Back in 2018 I was in a long term relationship, with a daughter and a partner who had a huge aversion to the big white wedding. We'd attended soo sooo many friend and family weddings and nothing was pulling us toward doing it for ourselves. Not to mention the cost of hosting was not inspiring us (saving for a lap around Australia was way more tempting).

I'd just become a celebrant myself and met a wonderful local celebrant at a training day, she lived just down the road from us. So one afternoon, Lynn came around and with our child in my arms, barefoot and in the back yard of our home, we were married.

I see the draw-card of doing things a little low maintenance, with a little less fuss surrounding it. I love to provide this service, as Lynn did for us that afternoon. It was perfect, it was "us" and it was memorable.
